In a groundbreaking move towards enhancing urban safety, the Noida Authority has embarked on an ambitious project valued at Rs 208.47 crore to transform the city into a safe haven for its residents. According to News24, spearheaded in various strategic phases, this initiative aims to incorporate state-of-the-art security systems into the city’s infrastructure.
A Six-Phase Surge to Safety
Covering diverse regions, the project unfolds over six phases ensuring comprehensive coverage and integration into the city’s fabric. At the heart of this transformation is the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICC), poised to be the nerve center linking police stations, CCTV networks, and advanced traffic management systems.
The Tender Call: Modern Technology Beckons
Noida Authority has initiated tenders and plans to invest approximately Rs 212 crore in the installation of cutting-edge CCTV cameras. A robust network of 561 strategic locations will host 2,634 cameras. Complementing this tech rollout is a 225 km optical fiber backbone for seamless connectivity to the ICC.
Establishing Round-the-Clock Surveillance
A crucial component of the project involves integrating 13 police stations with live monitoring capabilities through a specially constructed command center in Sector 94. This room will eventually become the operational base for Noida Police Commissionerate, facilitating instant crime response and enhanced community safety.
Emergency Protocols: Panic Buttons and More
To ensure swift action during emergencies, the city will be equipped with 147 emergency panic button stations at critical points. These will directly connect to police outposts, instantly alerting them to incidents and leveraging camera data for rapid response.
The Eyes in the Sky: Advanced CCTV Systems
The Safe City Scheme promises top-tier CCTV technology, offering police instantaneous access to live data and suspect identification. This feature will bolster efforts to apprehend wanted criminals through automated monitoring in the control room.
As Noida takes a monumental leap forward in urban safety and technological integration, the Safe City Project not only promises to revolutionize security measures but also aims to create a safer, more reassuring environment for 10 lakh residents 24⁄7. News24
